Whitewater kayaking is for the slightly more agressive
adventurous paddler. The kayaks are designed to turn and manuever.
Paddling in a straight line is nearly impossible. There are two
kinds of Whitewater paddling, freestyle and river-running. Freestyle
kayaking is similar to surfing and other board-sports. River-Running,
which is part of freestyle, is getting from the put in to the
takeout with grace and ease. Going with the flow of the river
can be an awesome thing.
Short flat-hulled ultra low volume boats allow the
paddler to perform dyna,ic tricks on standing waves and recirculating
hydraulics. Dedication and constant practive will give amazing rewards
in the form of a natural high every junkie strives for.
Going with the flow. Reading the river, picking
the path of least resistance through a chaotic maw of moving water.
Adreniline junkies run huge waterfalls and fast moving steep creeks,
while others choose to run easier class two and three rapids with
flatwater and beautiful scenery.
