The basic
recreational kayak is designed specifically for a person who wants
to get into kayaking but is not interested in being a serious paddler.
There are some out there that allow you, if you feel the urge, to
learn more advanced kayaking techniques. The Necky recreation kayaks
use similar hull designs to high end sea kayaks. These hulls have
similar performance characteristics to their high end counterparts
but are much easier to paddle. This gives you the ability to get
into kayaking, get your hands wet in a stable comfertable platform
while leaving your options open to learn and further your paddling
ability. There are many recreational boats out there that use very
simplified hull shapes greatly limiting their performance and versatility.
